Giclee Printing

Country Frames Gallery provides a Giclee Printing service using their Epson Stylus Pro wide format printer which uses Ultrachrome K3 Inks.

The word 'Giclée' is derived from the French word 'gicleur' meaning nozzle.  It was coined in 1991 to represent any inkjet-based digital print used as fine art.  The name has come to mean any high quality ink-jet print using fade-resistant 'archival' inks and is often used in galleries and print shops to denote such prints.  A wide variety of substrates are available including various textures and finishes such as watercolour paper, photo paper or cotton canvas.

Original artwork is either scanned or photographed to produce a digital file which is then worked on.  Country Frames Gallery prides itself in producing  a print which is as close a match to the original as is possible.   For fine art reproduction the gallery recommends using a high quality 330gms Velvet Paper.

If you require any more information on Giclee Printing please do not hesitate to get in touch.
